Samat Zhumatayuly, a researcher at the Institute of history and Ethnology named after Shokan Ualikhanov, performer of the scientific project” writing a short history of Kazakhstan for a foreign audience”, shared his visit to the United State Archive of the Orenburg region from July 10 to August 3.
During the scientific business trip, the United State Archive of the Orenburg Region studied inventories on the topic of the project, ordered to scan and make copies of available materials. In addition, commemorative addresses and new places related to the history of Kazakhstan were identified.
Samat Zhumatayevich conducted research on electronic and traditional catalogs in the Orenburg library named after N. Krupsky, ordered books and magazines in chronological frames of 1920-1925.
According to the results of the visit, unknown publications were found, which were previously published in Russian newspapers and magazines.
The Orenburg regional archival Affairs Committee signed a bilateral memorandum on the study of Kazakh-Russian relations with the United State Archive of the Orenburg region.
The management of the Orenburg regional Society of the Kazakh National Cultural Center, with the support of the Baiterek Foundation, held meetings with aksakals and youth, signed a bilateral Memorandum and made plans to study the history of the Kazakhs of the Orenburg region in the future.
As a result of several more negotiations, the management of the Society of historians and archivists of the Orenburg region held meetings with representatives of the society “Ana Tili”, the society “Kazakhs of Eurasia” with the support of the representative office of the International Society “Kazakh Tili” in Russia to study the history of Orenburg Kazakhs, and signed a bilateral memorandum.

In 1920-1925, work was carried out to find the buildings where M. Zhumabayev, A. Bokeikhan, A. Baitursynuly, S. Sadvakasuly, I. Arabayev, who studied and worked in Orenburg, and a letter was written for the installation of a memorial plaque of the Ministry of foreign affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During each meeting of the business trip, doctor of historical sciences V. Kozodoy was presented with the book “Alikhan Bukeikhan: epoch of the century” and the book “history of Astana” by Z. E. Kabuldinov, director of the Institute of history and Ethnology.
