Scientific visit to St. Petersburg and Moscow


Leading researcher, candidate of historical sciences A. K. Shashaev and junior researcher A. N. Konkabayeva from June 27 to July 11, 2022 (St. Petersburg) and leading researcher, PhD Dr. N. N. Kurmanalina from June 27 to July 16, 2022 (Moscow) carried out foreign business trips under grant funding “educational activities of public organizations in Kazakhstan in the first quarter of the XX century”.

The purpose of the scientific visit is to identify, collect and conduct scientific research materials related to the research topic in the library and archive funds of St. Petersburg and Moscow.

In St. Petersburg, the state archive of Russian history (RGIA) and the Russian state archive of film, Photo, phono materials (RGAKFFM), in Moscow, the state archive of the Russian Federation (Garf) and the Russian state archive of socio-political history (RGASPI) conducted scientific research with archival funds on the project topic, as well as in libraries of Russia conducted a search for electronic catalogs and found relevant publications. As a result, many valuable archival documents, abstracts, monographs, individual articles about public organizations created in Kazakhstan in the 20-30s of the XX century were identified and copies of them were obtained.

The books presented by our institute were donated to the director of the Russian state archive of film, Photo and phono materials, the fund of the Russian State Library. Several historical works and collections of documents brought from Moscow were transferred to the Library Fund of the Institute.
