ACADEMY OF SCIENCES OF THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN SIGNED A COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH THE INSTITUTE OF HISTORY


On August 5, 2022, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Sh.Sh. Valikhanov Institute of History and Ethnology, on the one hand, and the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, on the other hand.

Negotiations on cooperation were held for the first time in March of this year during the visit of the head of the Department of historiography, source studies and modern methodology, candidate of historical sciences A.T. Kaipbaeva. Uzbek colleagues were interested in the proposal for a scientific partnership between our research institutes, which are the leading scientific centers in the field of historical science of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Negotiations within the framework of the scientific trip to Tashkent, acting deputy director for public relations, candidate of historical sciences A.T. Abdulina and PhD student, researcher of the Department of Ethnology and anthropology of the Institute of history and Ethnology B.A. Ashim took part in the project “Development of a short history of Kazakhstan for a foreign audience”.

During the meeting, Director of the Institute of history of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, doctor of historical sciences Azamat Khamidovich Ziyeyev familiarized the Kazakh side with the main directions of the work of his research institute, the main projects for the preparation of a multi-volume history, the creation of a web portal of sources on the history of Uzbekistan, etc. In turn, Abdulina A. T. congratulated her Uzbek colleagues on the work of the corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Z. E. Under the leadership of kabuldinov, he was informed about the most important results of our institute’s activities, the development of a multi-volume and short history of Kazakhstan, the implementation of program-oriented financing projects for the rehabilitation of victims of political repression, etc.

In accordance with the concluded agreement, the parties plan to implement joint scientific projects on the history of Turkestan, participate in forums, round tables and other events, and regularly exchange news in the field of publications.

At the end of the meeting, an exchange of publications took place. Abdulina A. T. donated monographs to the fund of the Institute of history of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a collection of documents of recent years, and received valuable books and magazines from Uzbek colleagues to the fund of the Institute’s library:

In addition, negotiations were held with the head of the International Relations Department of the National Library of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi on the conclusion of a memorandum of cooperation. Due to the fact that this library institution is subordinate to the Ministry of Education and science, coordination with this department is required.
