A memorandum was signed with the Department for the development of languages of the Zhetysu region


On November 3, 2022, the Ch.Ch. Valikhanov Institute of History and Ethnology hosted a meeting of the Institute’s leadership, headed by Director Kabuldinov Z.E., with a delegation of the Zhetysu Region Language Development Department, headed by Akshabayev E.S., who is in charge of language policy in the region. During the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the two sides.

The main goal of the Department is to implement the state policy in the field of language development in the region, to conduct a coordinated language policy aimed at modernizing the Kazakh language based on the Latin alphabet, further improving language culture and developing language capital, ensuring the full-fledged activity of the Kazakh language as the state language.

To this end, the parties approved a memorandum on plans to write the history of the Zhetysu region, create a regional encyclopedia, establish cooperation in the areas of historical toponymy and implement joint programs within their authority.
