On April 12, 2023, scientists of the Valikhanov Institute of History and Ethnology and its branch in Astana took part in a solemn meeting dedicated to the Day of Science Workers organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event was attended by members of the National Council for Science and Technology under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, academicians of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, veterans of science, heads of higher educational institutions and scientific organizations, leading scientists of Kazakhstan.
As part of the solemn meeting, an exhibition of scientific achievements of scientists from leading research institutes and regional universities of the country was held. The exhibition presented scientific works of scientists of the socio-humanitarian field, scientific developments in the field of natural and technical sciences, as well as projects for the commercialization of the results of scientific and scientific-technical activities.
The Institute of History and Ethnology presented the results of the implementation of scientific programs “Interactive map “People of Kazakhstan”, “Great names of the Great Steppe”, “Historical Encyclopedia of Kazakhstan” and others. The exhibition also featured the series “Materials of the State Commission for the Complete Rehabilitation of Victims of Political Repression” (under the general editorship of the Chairman of the State Commission E.T. Karin), prepared by the Project Office of the State Commission and the Institute of History and Ethnology named after Ch. Valikhanov, as well as scientists of republican working groups and regional commissions.
In 2022, 31 collections were published as part of the series, 2 of them monographs, they were donated by the head of the Project Office of the State Commission S. Kasymov and the Director of the Valikhanov Institute of History and Ethnology Z.E. Kabuldinov to Deputy Prime Minister A.S. Kulginov.
Within the framework of the solemn meeting, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan S. Nurbek made congratulatory speeches, who noted the great attention of the state to the development of science and higher education. Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Kulginov reported that the first meeting of the National Council was held, at which the Head of State gave a number of instructions to the Government, the Ministry for the Development of Science and Education. These are the financing of science, the effective distribution of grants, and the improvement of the social conditions of scientists.
Director of the Institute of History and Ethnology named after Ch . Valikhanov Z.E. Kabuldinov made a report on the main achievements in social and humanitarian research in Kazakhstan. He noted the great attention of the Head of State to the development of social sciences and humanities, including the adoption of the Archive-2025 program and others.
The event continued with the award: the Deputy Prime Minister awarded a number of senior students with medals “Veteran of Labor” for achieving naive results in labor activity, awarded certificates “For merits in the development of Science” for achievements in science.
