On May 15-16, 2024, on the occasion of the Great Victory Day, the Council of Young Scientists of the Institute of History and Ethnology named after Ch.Ch.Valikhanov organized a meeting with veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
During the meeting, the veterans shared their memories of the war and post-war life.
The first veteran, with whom the meeting began, is a candidate of philological sciences, a member of the Council of Veterans of the Great Patriotic War, Tatyana Maksimova, who turned 100 this year, told how during the war she worked as a nurse and helped wounded soldiers.
Seitov Zulkainar, the second veteran scientist, Doctor of Biological Sciences, professor, Honored Scientist of Kazakhstan, turned 102 this year. Despite his age, he spoke almost accurately about his exploits at the front.

Chief Researcher at the Institute of History and Ethnology named after Ch.Ch. Valikhanov, Doctor of Philosophy, academician Kshibekov Dosmukhamed shared his memories, namely how he worked as a military pilot during the war, how he came to science, and also gave valuable materials about K.I. Satpayev, D.A. Konaev.

The information received has been transferred to the Institute’s archive and is planned to be used as historical data in future research.
