On September 25, 2024, the Ch.Ch. Valikhanov Institute of History and Ethnology held a scientific seminar titled “The Relevance of Studying the Military Practices of Nomads,” organized by the Department of the History of Kazakhstan and Neighboring Countries in Ancient and Medieval Times. During the seminar, the institute’s leading researcher, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Zhumadil Arman Kabdeshovich, presented on the history of nomadic military practices and the different types of weapons used by nomads. He also discussed the influence of nomadic military strategies on other states, historical continuity, and forgotten military rituals. Scholars from other regions of Kazakhstan participated in the seminar online, asking questions and sharing their perspectives.

To acknowledge the information on the military practices of nomads presented at the scientific seminar.
To initiate scientific research and publications on topics related to the military history of Kazakhstan.
To recommend research topics on the military history and practices of the Steppe to doctoral and master’s students.
To submit applications for grant projects on the military practices and history of nomads in the coming year.
