DEAR COLLEAGUES!

The Council of Young Scientists of the Ch.Ch. Valikhanov Institute of History and Ethnology, Committee of Science of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, will hold a roundtable on April 11, 2025, on the topic: “Young Scientists and the Current Issues and New Directions of Contemporary National Historical Science”.

The goal of the roundtable is to discuss the contribution of young scholars to the formation of a new perspective on historical science through the study of new directions, as well as their role and place in the study of current issues in historical research. Over the years of independence, new directions in native historical science have not yet been thoroughly explored. In this regard, one of the key issues of the current stage is conducting research in areas such as the history of everyday life, oral history, microhistory, gender history, intellectual history, and others, as well as applying these approaches to the study of national history.

During the roundtable, the place and role of young scholars in the development of domestic historical science and in the overall prosperity of independent Kazakhstan will be discussed, as well as the pressing issues and new directions in modern national historical science.

The roundtable will take place in both offline and online formats via the Zoom platform.
