On April 11, 2025, the Young Scientists Council of the Ch.Ch. Valikhanov Institute of History and Ethnology of the Committee of Science of the MES RK successfully held a round table on the topic: “Young Scientists and Topical Issues and New Directions of Modern Domestic Historical Science.”
The event was held in a hybrid format, bringing together participants both offline within the walls of the Institute (Almaty, Shevchenko str., 28) and online on the Zoom platform. The round table aroused significant interest among young researchers, teachers, and specialists in the field of history.
The aim of the event was to discuss the contribution of young scientists to the development of historical science through the study of new directions, as well as their role and place in the study of topical issues of national history.
During the lively discussion, the following key issues were touched upon:
- New methodological approaches in historical research (history of everyday life, oral history, microhistory, gender history, intellectual history, etc.).
- Topical problems of studying national history during the period of independence.
- The role of young scientists in shaping new views on the historical past of Kazakhstan.
- Prospects for using modern research methods and technologies in historical sciences.

Young scientists presented their reports and shared the results of their research, which sparked an interested discussion among the participants. During the round table, the high level of preparation of the speakers and the relevance of the topics raised were noted.
The organizing committee expresses its gratitude to all participants for their active participation in the round table, informative presentations, and fruitful discussions. We hope that the exchange of views that took place will contribute to the further development of young researchers in the field of historical science and stimulate the study of topical issues of national history using new approaches and methodologies.
