In 2025, we will mark the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory of the peoples of the Soviet Union in the Second World War — a historic milestone that remains a symbol of courage, unity, and the selfless struggle of millions


In this regard, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, the Ch.Ch. Valikhanov Institute of History and Ethnology, and the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus will jointly organize an international scientific-practical conference dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The conference will be held on May 6, 2025, within the framework of Program-Targeted Funding (PTF) Project BR20280975.
Theme of the conference: “The Contribution of Kazakhstan and Kazakhstanis to Victory.”

The goal of the conference is not only to honor the heroic deeds of the past but also to rethink the historical lessons of the war and their impact on national unity, state ideology, and collective identity. The conference will bring together scholars, political scientists, public figures, doctoral students, and graduate students interested in military history and historical memory.
