The round table was organized within the framework of the IRN BR28512385 program “Interdisciplinary Study of Regional Aspects of the History of Kazakhstan (Based on New Archival Materials and Folklore Sources)” and was dedicated to current issues related to the preparation of the seven-volume academic edition History of Kazakhstan from Ancient Times to the Present Day.
The moderator of the round table was Yerzhan Muratovich Toraygyrov, Candidate of Historical Sciences and Senior Research Fellow at the Institute.
The following speakers presented:

- Ziyabek Yermukhanovich Kabuldinov, Academician of NAS RK, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, General Director of the Institute — “Colonization in the Context of Studying the History of Kazakhstan: Concept, Content, Interpretations”.
- Dmitry Valentinovich Vasiliev, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor at Moscow City Pedagogical University — “Russian Presence in the Kazakh Steppe in the 18th–19th Centuries: From Colonial Administration to Administrative Assimilation”.
- Daniel Scarboro, PhD, Associate Professor at Nazarbayev University — “Orthodox Shrines in Central Asia”.
- Askar Mambetovich Dzhumashev, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Head of the History Department at the Karakalpak Research Institute for the Humanities — “Colonial Policy of Tsarist Russia Based on the History of Peoples of the Lower Amu Darya”.
The event was held in the format of an online conference on the Zoom platform, with the participation of historians and researchers from Kazakhstan, Russia, and Uzbekistan. The presentations were followed by a productive discussion.
