From November 16 to 22, 2025, Dr. O.Kh. Mukhatova, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Chief Researcher of the Department of Historiography, Source Studies and Modern Methodology, and E. Sauyrkan, Junior Researcher of the Department of Ancient and Medieval History of Kazakhstan and Neighboring Countries, PhD doctoral student, conducted scientific research in Astana as part of the grant project titled:
“Unknown Pages of the History of Kazakhstan’s Foreign Policy from the Late 16th to the 18th Century (Based on Foreign Archival Materials)” (Grant No. АР 26194453).

 Purpose of the trip: to carry out research within the scope of the project at the National Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the State Archive of Astana, the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the National Center for Manuscripts and Rare Books.
The objectives included the study of Kazakh-Russian, Kazakh-Chinese, and Kazakh-Turkish relations from the late 16th to 18th centuries; identification of diplomatic and trade ties; as well as locating, copying, collecting, and systematizing archival documents and materials related to the foreign policy history of Kazakhstan in the late 17th – 18th centuries.

 Additionally, copies of relevant historiographical materials stored in the National Academic Library were obtained.
The gathered data and materials contribute significantly to enriching the theoretical and source-based foundation of the research topic.
