The Ch.Ch. Valikhanov Institute of History and Ethnology on October 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. holds an international scientific and practical conference on the topic: “Demographic Trends in Kazakhstan: History and Contemporary Issues in the Research of Young Scholars”
The main thematic areas of the conference:
- Youth and Historical Demography: The role of young researchers in the study of population history and demographic processes;
- Contemporary Demographic Processes in Kazakhstan and Neighboring Countries;
- Migration and Territorial Mobility of the Population: Internal and international migration, as well as issues related to urbanization;
- Demographic Security and Risks;
- State Demographic Policy and International Experience;
- Socio-Economic and Ethnocultural Aspects of Demography.
Venue: Institute of History and Ethnology named after Ch. Ch. Valikhanov, 28 Shevchenko Street, Almaty.
Working Languages of the Conference: Kazakh, English, and Russian.

Participation Requirements: To participate in the conference, applicants must submit a registration form and the full text of their paper by September 10, 2026, to the Organizing Committee’s email address (ayana_ue@mail.ru) (application form attached). The Organizing Committee reserves the right to reject submissions that do not correspond to the conference themes or specified requirements. No correspondence will be conducted with the author(s) regarding such decisions.
Conference Fee: No participation fee is required, including for the publication of full-text papers. An electronic proceedings volume will be published after the conference.

Requirements for the design of articles
An article of no more than 10-12 pages should be designed in the Word editor, Times New Roman font, 12 size, 1 spacing, paragraph indentation the same throughout the text 1cm, all margins are 2 cm. The article must specify the UDC index, initials and surname of the author, the place of work of the author (indicating the city and country) in Russian and Kazakh; the title of the article, an abstract (from 500 to 600 characters), keywords for publication (from 6 to 10 words) in the appropriate languages.
The lists of used sources and literature are drawn up according to GOST R 7.0.5-2008 “Bibliographic reference. General requirements and rules of compilation”. The list is arranged in citation order. References are formatted in the author-year format: (Gafurov, 1989: 87). If there are multiple works by the same author in the same year: (Islamov, 2021a), (Islamov, 2021b). Archives are designed: (SACHRT. F. 3316. In. 28. C. 865. P.28,29).
