On June 17, 2026, the department of history of Kazakhstan and neighboring countries in ancient and medieval times of the Institute of History and Ethnology named after Sh.Sh. Ualikhanov will hold a scientific seminar on the topic “Relations between the Ulus of Jochi (Golden Horde) and the Yuan Dynasty of the XIII-XIV centuries and some issues of the research topic”
The purpose of the scientific seminar is a scientific analysis of the political, diplomatic, economic and cultural ties between the Ulus of Jochi (Golden Horde) and the Yuan Dynasty in the XIII–XIV centuries based on historical data. In addition, the seminar will identify the main stages of the relationship between the two states, compare information from medieval written sources, study the features of international trade routes and elite ties, as well as discuss topical issues of modern research on this topic.
The study of relations between the Ulus of Jochi (Golden Horde) and the Yuan Dynasty occupies an important place in understanding the political processes in the Eurasian space, the interaction of states created by the descendants of Genghis Khan, and the features of the medieval system of international relations. In this regard, the relevance of studying this topic in modern historical science on the basis of new data and methodological positions is high.
We invite scientists, specialists, doctoral students, undergraduates, students and those interested in historical science to learn more about the history of the Ulus of Jochi and express their opinions at a scientific seminar on the topic “Relations of the Ulus of Jochi and the Yuan Dynasty of the XIII-XIV centuries. and some questions of the research topic”
