Council of Young Scientists
The greatest achievement of domestic science over the years of independence in recent years is the arrival of young specialists in the field of science. The main force of the development of Kazakh science are research institutes and higher educational institutions. To date, there are about 400 organizations engaged in research work in Kazakhstan. The creation of research centers at educational institutions of the country under the leadership of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan also contributes to the promotion of domestic science. Various measures for the development of education and science are being implemented comprehensively in the country.
The Council of Young Scientists of the Ch.Ch. Valikhanov Institute of History and Ethnology (hereinafter – CYS) is a public body that represents the interests and unites young historians and researchers working and studying at the Institute. The main objectives and principles of the Council’s activities are: to develop proposals and make recommendations on determining priorities, forming and realizing the professional interests of young specialists; to promote the professional growth of young specialists and the consolidation of young personnel at the Institute; to promote the implementation of priority areas of scientific activity identified by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and IHE; consideration of issues related to the interaction of the IHE with other research institutes, scientific organizations, higher educational institutions, the scientific community on participation in the formation and implementation of a unified state research activity; participation in the popularization and promotion of the results of research activities; assistance in the development of international research cooperation.
One of the effective ways to build the potential of scientific schools and scientific personnel in the field of science is the work of the Council of Young Scientists. CYS was organized in the mid – 1950s . Until today, the chairmen of the Council of Young Scientists of the Institute were well-known scientists of the republic: Suleimenov Ramazan Bimashevich, Kenes Nurpeisov, Baypakov Karl Moldakhmetovich, Aldazhumanov Kaidar Seisembayevich, Abuseitova Meruert Kuatovna, Masanov Nurbolat Edygeyevich, Balakaeva Lyailya Toltayevna, Uskenbai Kanat Zulkaryshevich, Yensenov Kanat Alekseevich, Rakhimkulov Dautkhan Aitzhanovich, Zhunisbayev Almas Abdiganievich, Kurmanalina Nurgul Nursultan, Apendiev Timur Akimkhanovich.
In order to ensure the effective work of the Council of Young Scientists, a work plan is approved at the beginning of each year. Members of the Council (young employees) take an active part as performers in research projects implemented at the Institute, and also take part in all public events (round tables, conferences, lectures, seminars, competitions, etc.) organized at the Institute. Participating in research projects as performers, young specialists participate in scientific business trips in order to acquire scientific experience within Kazakhstan and abroad. Undergraduates and doctoral students of the Institute undergo scientific training in leading universities and research centers of the countries of the near and far abroad. In addition, CYS members actively work with the media, publish the results of their scientific research in scientific journals and periodicals. For the last 10 years, CYS has been holding quarterly round tables for young researchers with the aim of promoting science among the younger generation, introducing them to patriotic education, the formation of historical consciousness.

In accordance with the annually approved CYS plan, the following regular activities are envisaged.:
– Participation in the annual national contest «Alashtyn Ak Zholy of the XXI century», organized by the Democratic Party «Ak Zhol»;
– Participation in the work of the International Summer School of Young Historians of the CYS;
– Organization and holding of the republican competition for the E. Bekmakhanov Prize for young scientists;
– Organization and holding of the traditional annual scientific and practical conference of young historians.
Young scientists of the Institute are actively engaged in research work. To date, employees with degrees that meet the requirements for the following project competitions announced by the Ministry of Education and Science prepare applications for the project on their own behalf, employees who do not meet the requirements, do not have academic degrees, participate in the development of projects as performers: competition for grant funding for scientific and (or) scientific andtechnical projects for 2022-2024; competition for grant funding of research of young scientists on the project «Zhas Galym» for 2022-2024.
Currently, young PhD staff of the Institute (Kozybayeva M.M., Kurmanalina N.N.) as scientific supervisors are implementing the following projects:
1) AP08052897 «The peasantry of Kazakhstan in the post-war decade: social transformation and everyday life»;
2) AP08052271 «New declassified Russian archives about unknown pages of the life and work of Kazakh khans, sultans, batyrs (18th – first half of the 19th centuries».
Semi-annual and annual reports of members of the Council of Young Scientists are compiled according to the following criteria (publications):
1. Articles in scientific publications included in the Scopus / Thomson Reuters database;
2. Scientific articles, in publications recommended by CQAESMES;
3. Articles published in scientific publications included in the RSCI database;
4. Articles published in collections of international conferences;
5. Articles published in collections of republican, regional, city conferences;
6. Articles published on the pages of the media;
7. Articles published in the encyclopedia;
8. Participation in other events (round table, TV program, outdoor area, etc.), editorial work, certificates, awards, letters of thanks, etc.

November 26, 2020 – Zakaria Rakhmetolla, Zikirbayeva Venus (republican scientific and practical conference within the framework of the annual VIII Nusupbekov readings on the theme «Kazakhstan’s contribution to the Victory and the legacy of Akai Nusupbekov», dedicated to the memory of an outstanding scientist, academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Honored Scientist of the Kazakh SSR, laureate of the State Prize Nusupbekov Aka Nusupbekovich, as well as in honor of the 75th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet Union in the Great Patriotic War and World War II).
December 15, 2020 – Murzakhodzhaev Kuanysh (Republican scientific and practical online conference «Philosophical problems of Historical Science of Kazakhstan», dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the birth of an outstanding scientist, Doctor of Philosophy (1965), Professor (1967), academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2003), Honored Worker of the Higher School of the Kazakh SSR (1974), a participant in the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945) of Dosmukhamed Kshibekov).
