The estimated start and completion date of the project, its duration in months: 07/01/2022 – 12/31/2024, duration – 30 months.

Relevance. From the end of 1986 to the present, Russian historical science has practically ignored D.A. Kunaev’s contribution to the socio-economic development of Kazakhstan and the preservation of the territorial integrity of the republic in relation to the period from the 1950s to the 1980s. Separate articles and small books have been published-memoirs about this unique personality. But this topic has not become the subject of a complete and comprehensive study by domestic and foreign scientists. There are practically no collections of archival documents about D.A. Kunaev, there is no encyclopedia, as well as monographic studies. His personality was not adequately reflected in the latest academic edition of The History of Kazakhstan from Ancient Times to the Present Day in 5 volumes (Almaty, 2010). The huge source base stored in the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Central State Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, regional and district archives has become available to a wide range of scientists, but has not been introduced into wide scientific circulation. The richest epistolary heritage of D.A. Kunaev himself, as well as the memories of his contemporaries, associates, as well as relatives and relatives, have not yet been introduced into scientific circulation.

 The idea of the project is to conduct a systematic and comprehensive study of the contribution of the famous statesman D.A. Kunaev to the socio-economic development of Kazakhstan and ensuring the territorial integrity of the republic based on the introduction of rare archival sources, as well as the memoirs of contemporaries, associates, relatives and relatives.

 The aim of the project is a complete scientific reconstruction of the life and work of the famous statesman D.A. Kunaev, who made a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of Kazakhstan and ensuring its territorial integrity through the involvement of archival, written and folklore sources.

The expected results of the study are publications:

– 1 (one) article or review in a peer-reviewed scientific publication indexed in the Social Science Citation Index, Arts and Humanities Citation Index and (or) Russian Science Citation Index of the Web of Science database and (or) having a CiteScore percentile in the Scopus database of at least 35;

– 2 (two) articles and (or) reviews in peer-reviewed foreign and (or) domestic publications recommended by the Committee for Quality Assurance in the Sphere of Education of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

– 1 scientific article in a peer-reviewed foreign publication (RSCI).

– The results of a comprehensive and systematic study will be well presented in a collection of archival documents and a collective monograph, as well as a personal encyclopedia. Thus, the performing group plans to publish a collective monograph “D.A. Kunaev’s contribution to the socio-economic development of Kazakhstan and the preservation of the territorial integrity of the republic.”
