On May 5, 2023, in order to collect rare archival materials on political repression in district archives, a group of scientists led by S. Kasymov, head of the Project Office of the State Commission, began work in the State Archive of the Sandyktau district of Akmola region.

The expedition was attended by representatives of the regional commission of Akmola region E.B. Nugumanov, M.Z. Utegenov, A.T. Bekseitova, K.Zh. Uzakpaeva. During the expedition, the scientists met with the director of the archive G.I. Vinogradova, archivists and began to study the archival funds and materials of the district commissions. In these materials, a search is being conducted for lists of bais, kulaks, religious figures and other categories compiled on behalf of rural districts, district executive committees for which repressions were carried out.
