SCIENTIFIC TRIP TO ST. PETERSBURG 

The scientific secretary of the Institute of History and Ethnology named after Ch.Ch. Valikhanov, N.N. Kurmanalin from August 23 to September 4, 2023 carried out a scientific trip on the fundamental scientific research “Historical traditions of the Kazakh statehood and the problems of preserving national identity” in St. Petersburg (Russia).

The purpose of the scientific trip is to identify, collect, and scientifically process materials from the fund of the Russian State Historical Archive (RSIA) on the topic of the study.

In the course of the work, the following and other cases were considered concerning the scientific project on funds 1291. “ZEMSKY DEPARTMENT of the Ministry of Internal Affairs” (op. 81. 1792-1866. OC) and 1264 “First Siberian Committee”:

  • The First Siberian Committee. National politics and the peoples of Siberia. The case of the enactment of the “Charter on Siberian aliens”. 1822 (F. 1264 Op. 1 d. 267. – 42 l.);
  • The First Siberian Committee. National politics and the peoples of Siberia. The case on the draft “Charter on Siberian aliens” (F. 1264 Op. 1 d. 266. – 145 l.);
  • The First Siberian Committee. National politics and the peoples of Siberia. The case of the draft “Charter on Siberian aliens”. Statement on the number of representatives of the peoples of Siberia who pay yasak. (F. 1264 Op. 1 d. 265. – 323 l.);
  • The First Siberian Committee. National politics and the peoples of Siberia. Draft “Charter on Siberian aliens” (F. 1264 Op. 1 d. 264. – 200 l.);
  • The case on the proposal of the Governor-General of Western Siberia on the relationship between Russia and China in connection with the issue of border protection in the Siberian Steppe (F. 1264 Op. 1 d. 261. – 42 l.);
  • Zemstvo Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. 1800 Correspondence with the Sultan of the Middle Horde Vali-Ablaev (F. 1291 Op. 81 d. 3. -120 l.).

As a result, 19 cases were worked out according to these funds and photocopies of the necessary (more than 1750) sheets were made.

The Institute’s books were also donated to the Library of the Russian State Historical Archive and the Russian National Library.
