Biography

Born on December 14, 1943 in the city of Aralsk, Kyzylorda region, in a family of rural intellectuals: father is an agronomist, mother is a teacher. In 1960 he graduated from the Aral secondary school named after N.K. Krupskaya. In 1960-1962 worked as a fitter apprentice at the Aral Shipyard and as a sailor at the Aral Shipping Company. In 1963-1967. He served in the Red Banner Northern Fleet in the cities of Severomorsk and Polyarny. Prepared five candidates of historical sciences.

Higher education

1962-1971 – a first-year student of the Faculty of History of Kazakh State University named after S.M. Kirov (with a break for service in the ranks of the Soviet Army in 1963-1967), a graduate of the Department of History of the Kazakh SSR, the head of the thesis was a well-known scientist, corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor G.F. Dachschleiger, who gave him a ticket to science.

1977-1980 – postgraduate student of KazGU, in 1981 under the guidance of Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor A.R. Akhmetov defended his dissertation for the degree of candidate of historical sciences.

1998 – under the guidance of Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Zh.K. Kasymbaev defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Historical Sciences.

Professional experience:

1971-1973 – assistant, lecturer, senior lecturer of the Department of History of the USSR, Ural Pedagogical Institute named after A.S. Pushkin.

1973-1975 – Lecturer of the Propaganda and Agitation Department of the Ural Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan.

1975-1977 – Senior Lecturer, Department of History of the USSR UPI named after. A.S. Pushkin.

1981-1987 – Senior researcher at the Institute of Party History under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan.

1987-1992 – Associate Professor of the Alma-Ata Higher Party School.

Participates in the preparation of a Brief History of Kazakhstan for a foreign audience and a 7-volume history of Kazakhstan.

Encouragement: awarded with two medals of the USSR, certificates of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Scientific interests: focus on the most pressing problems of modern humanities and compliance with the world level of research. The main circle of his scientific interests is connected with the history of modern Kazakhstan (XVIII – early XX centuries), the study of the military-Cossack colonization of the region, the conquest of Kazakhstan and Central Asia by tsarist Russia, the role of the Russian Cossack troops in this process – the Ural, Orenburg, Siberian and Semirechensk . For the first time in Russian historical science, the history of the tsarist Cossack troops and the military-Cossack colonization of the region was singled out as an independent scientific problem; he published five individual and collective monographs on this topic. In recent years, based on the latest archaeological, anthropological, ethnographic and linguistic materials, he has been actively studying the history of the Indo-European (Indo-Aryan) tribes of Kazakhstan of the Bronze Age, their role in the formation of the Kazakh ethnos, in the origin of the ethnonym “Kazakh”.

Publications:

Author of 11 books and over 100 articles on the history of Kazakhstan and world politics, published in domestic and foreign publications. These are such works as: “History of the Cossacks of Kazakhstan” (1994), “Khan Kuchum: known and unknown” (1996), “The conquest of Kazakhstan by Tsarist Russia and the struggle of the Kazakh people for independence” (2000), ” History of the Semirechensk Cossack army. 1867-1917″ (2011) and “Siberian Cossacks and Kazakhs of the Steppe Territory in the XVIII-XIX centuries.” (2016).

Together with Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor A.K. Kusainov published monographs: “Actual problems of innovative development of the historical science of Kazakhstan” (2013) and “History of Kazakhstan in the stream of world historiography: achievements, problems, prospects, reflections, doubts and hopes …” (2015). They analyze the achievements of national historical thought over the years of independence, the content, goals and objectives of the new state policy in the field of national history.

Author of two major monographs on the problems of modern world politics and international relations: “Discovering another America, China, Russia and Kazakhstan” (2011) and “China in the modern global world” (2013). Both books have been donated to the Library of Congress, the University of Illinois Library, and other US universities.

Actively speaks in the press on the problems of national and world history, researches and publishes historical portraits of prominent personalities of the era of the Golden Horde and the Kazakh Khanate. In 2021, he published the monograph “The Kazakh Khan in the Russian State”, dedicated to the fate of the Kazakh Sultan Oraz-Mukhammed Ondanuly, who became the first Kazakh ruler of the Kasimov Khanate in the Russian State.

He made presentations at international scientific conferences in Moscow, Omsk, Bishkek and other cities of the CIS. In 2014-2016, he was a consultant of the scientific project of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the program “People in the Stream of History” on the topic: “Siberian Cossacks and Kazakhs of the Steppe Territory in the 18th-19th centuries.” As a result of the implementation of this project in 2016, a collective monograph “Siberian Cossacks and Kazakhs of the Steppe Territory in the 18th-19th centuries” was published.
